The thing with gnosticism is that everyone tries to convince you it's evil. Meanwhile it's their god that demands blood sacrifice, foreskins, infantile genocide. Gnosticism at its core is simply understanding that Jesus Christ is not the same as Yahweh in the Torah. They tricked you into accepting that a demon is the creator of heaven and earth.
So, occult imagery and dark themes are often presented along with this understanding which is just part of the ploy to make you think gnosticism is evil and anti-god. Well, yeah, sure it's anti-god, it's anti-demiurge, anti-penis-cutting, anti-infantile-genocide how bout daht?
